The Calgary Flames announced earlier today that defenseman Michael Stone retired from hockey.

A heckuva career 🔥

Congratulations to Michael Stone, who has announced his retirement from playing in the @NHL.

Michael Stone played a total of 552 games in the NHL with the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes. Last season, he registered 11 points in 48 games with Calgary.

A New Job for Stone

Michael Stone was hired by the Flames to a new position.

He will now be a part of the Flames Player Development team.

"While Stone has stepped away from his playing career, he has not departed the NHL as the Calgary Flames have signed him as the newest member of their player development team." - Via Calgary Flames
