Installing laminate flooring at home is a simple and cost-effective way to update your space. With the right tools and preparation, you can complete the job on your own.

Preparation
Before starting, measure your room and calculate how much laminate you’ll need. Make sure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level. Acclimate the laminate planks to the room temperature for 48 hours.

Tools and Materials
You’ll need a tape measure, spacers, a saw, a hammer, and underlayment.

Install Underlayment
Lay down the underlayment to provide cushioning and soundproofing. Ensure it’s smooth and wrinkle-free.

Plank Installation
Start at the corner of the room and place the first plank with a spacer along the wall. Continue placing planks, clicking them together using their tongue-and-groove design. Stagger the seams for a more natural look.

Cutting the Planks
Measure the last row of planks and cut them to fit using a saw. Leave a small gap between the plank and wall for expansion.

Finishing Touches
Once the flooring is installed, remove the spacers and install baseboards to cover the gaps along the edges.
