According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, the Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension worth $6.25 million with veteran forward Jeff Carter.

"Jeff Carter's two-year extension with PIT has an AAV of $3.125 million — $3.25 million in the first year; $3 million in the second year — and has a full NMC in both years." McKenzie said in a tweet on Wednesday.

Carter, 37, was acquired by the Penguins one day before the 2021 NHL trade deadline from the Los Angeles Kings for a pair of conditions draft picks. So far, Carter has been a solid addition to the Penguins lineup bringing a lot of leadership and experience.

In 36 games this season, the London, Ontario native has twenty-six points (twelve goals, fourteen assists), twenty-two penalty minutes and is a minus-one.
