According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Ottawa Senators will now be represented by captain Brady Tkachuk at the 2022 NHL All-Star Game due to Drake Batherson being injured.

Batherson, 23, was injured during Tuesday night's game against Buffalo by Sabres goaltender Aaron Dell. Dell appeared to elbow Batherson in the head and interfered with him while the Senators forward was trying to go behind Buffalo's net to get the puck. Batherson left the game with a lower-body injury.

On Wednesday, Senators reporter Bruce Garrioch reported that Batherson has a high-ankle sprain and will be out long-term. Meanwhile, Sabres goaltender Aaron Dell has a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Wednesday. He could become the first goaltender suspended since Jamie McLennan in 2007.

This will be Tkachuk's second All-Star Game of his young career. The 22-year-old was named captain of the Ottawa Senators earlier this season and has played quite well, putting up 27 points (12 G, 15 A) in 33 games.
