According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Edmonton Oilers have placed veteran forward Kyle Turris on regular waivers, while forward Tim Soderlund has been placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract buyout.

The news of Turris being placed on waivers comes as the Oilers reportedly have signed forward Brad Malone according to PuckPedia. Malone was on an AHL contract with the Oilers' affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors.

Turris, 32, has appeared in 21 games this season for the Oilers, tallying four points (one goal, three assists), four penalty minutes, and is a minus-five.

Soderlund, 23, was acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks back in July 2021 along with defenceman Duncan Keith. The Skelleftea, Sweden native split time between the Bakersfield Condors (AHL) and Wichita Thunder (ECHL) during the 2021-22 season. He didn't record any points with Bakersfield, but had nine points in eight games with Wichita.

According to HockeyNews.se , Soderlund is in agreement with Durjgardens IF of the Swedish Hockey League on a contract for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
