Canadiens extend their pause on team activities

The Canadiens have announced that they've decided to extend their pause on all team activities. Their pause was set to end tomorrow, but it has been extended by a couple of days to January 9th.

In a statement via their team website they said, "The Montreal Canadiens announced on Thursday an extended pause of activities as a preventive measure through January 8 inclusively. This measure also applies to the Laval Rocket's operations at Place Bell.

The organization has followed, and will continue to follow, all recommendations regarding the health and safety of its players, staff, and the community, as put in place by the NHL as well as local authorities."

They added, "The Canadiens' next practice will be held on Sunday, January 9 at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard."

Currently, the Montreal Canadiens have a total of twenty-two players in the National Hockey League's COVID-19 protocol. Those players are, forwards Brandon Baddock, Paul Byron, Laurent Dauphin, Jake Evans, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Cameron Hillis, Mike Hoffman, Artturi Lehkonen, Michael Pezzetta, Tyler Toffoli, Jesse Ylonen, defensemen Louie Belpedio, Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson, Gianni Fairbrother, Jeff Petry, Alexander Romanov, David Savard, Chris Wideman and goaltenders Jake Allen, Samuel Montembeault, Cayden Primeau.

Montreal's next scheduled game is set for Wednesday, January 12th against the Bruins in Boston.
