Connor Bedard returned from the cancelled World Juniors and suited up for his club team, the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League.

In his final game before the World Juniors was cancelled by the International Ice Hockey Federation due to COVID-19 concerns, Bedard scored four goals against Austria. On Saturday night, Bedard did it again, scoring four times including the overtime winner in Regina's 7-6 win over Moose Jaw. It was the first time in his junior career that he scored a hat trick.

The 16-year-old showed the entire country a sample of what he is capable of during the shortened World Juniors, where he set or tied a number of records for players of his age.

Bedard became the first Canadian 16-year-old to score a hat trick at the World Juniors since Wayne Gretzky in 1977.

- Only the sixth player in Canadian World Junior history to score four goals in a single game joining Mario Lemieux (1983), Simon Gagne (1999), Brayden Schenn (2010), Taylor Raddysh (2016) and Maxime Comtois (2018).

- Is now tied for second in Canadian World Junior history for points as a 16 year old at the tournament with 5. (Tied with Sidney Crosby).

Bedard and the Regina Pats currently sit ninth in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference with a record of 14-17-0 through 31 games. The Pats will be in action next on January 7th against Saskatoon.
