The Montreal Canadiens are set to take on the Florida Panthers this afternoon at 1pm ET, but they'll have to do so with a short bench after forward Jake Evans and defenceman Alexander Romanov were added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.

With Evans and Romanov added it brings up Montreal's total to sixteen players in the league's protocol. Those players being, Jeff Petry, Tyler Toffoli, Artturi Lehkonen, Joel Edmundson, Mike Hoffman, Ben Chiarot, Jake Allen, Cayden Primeau, Chris Wideman, Laurent Dauphin, Gianni Fairbrother, Paul Byron, Jake Evans, Alexander Romanov.

It appears that the Canadiens may have to play with only eighteen dressed for Saturday's game, eleven forwards, five defencemen, two goaltenders. That number could be bumped up to nineteen if Brendan Gallagher is able to play despite dealing with a lower-body injury.

Puck drop from Sunrise, Florida is set for 1pm ET on TSN2 and RDS.
