The Los Angeles Kings announced on Monday afternoon that they've called up Alex Turcotte and Quinton Byfield from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Ontario Reign.

Byfield, 19, suffered an ankle fracture back in early-October and was forced to miss the start of the 2021-22 season. The Kings activated Byfield off of injured reserve on December 5th and subsequently assigned him to their AHL affiliate in Ontario, California.

In four games with the Reign, Byfield went pointless, had four penalty minutes, and was a minus-one. In six career NHL games, the Newmarket, Ontario native has one assist, two penalty minutes, and is a plus-one.

Turcotte, 20, was Los Angeles' first round pick (fifth overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He's yet to make his NHL debut and that will likely come tomorrow night against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Elk Grove, Illinois native has appeared in 50 career AHL games in his professional career thus far. In eighteen games this season, Turcotte has ten points (three goals, seven assists), twelve penalty minutes, and is a plus-ten.

Los Angeles will host the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night at 10pm ET/7pm PT (local). It will be one of only three games on the schedule tomorrow night due to multiple COVID-19 postponements.
