Some scary moments from the KHL on Sunday after Dmitry Voronkov, a draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets playing for Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL, was stretchered off the ice following a huge hit. Check it out:

Pyotr Khokhryakov, a career KHLer, would get tossed from the game for an illegal check to the head. Voronkov was taken to hospital but released an update saying he's feeling much better, although he still can't see out of his left eye.

The KHL has ruled that Khokhryakov will serve four games for the hit on Voronkov. He also receives an additional game for his second game misconduct of the season, meaning he'll sit for a total of five. Ak Bars said Voronkov is expected to miss about a month of action. Because of that, he will not be able to join the Russian National Team at the Channel One Cup taking place later this month despite making the team. The Channel One Cup tournament is an open format one with teams from various nations (including Canada) taking part.
