Hockey Canada makes cuts, announces final roster for 2022 World Juniors

Following their 7-2 victory over the U-Sports All-Stars on Sunday afternoon, Hockey Canada announced the final roster for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

The nine cuts for Canada were: Zach Dean, William Dufour, Luke Evangelista, Jack Finley, Daemon Hunt, Vincent Iorio, Hendrix Lapierre, Joshua Roy, Ryan Tverberg.

Forwards (13): Connor Bedard, Xavier Bourgault, Mavrik Bourque, Will Cuylle, Elliot Desnoyers, Ridly Greig, Dylan Guenther, Kent Johnson, Mason McTavish, Jake Neighbours, Cole Perfetti*, Justin Sourdif, Logan Stankoven, Shane Wright.

Defence (8): Lukas Cormier, Kaiden Guhle*, Carson Lambos, Ryan O'Rourke, Owen Power, Donovan Sebrango, Ronan Seeley, Olen Zellweger.

Goaltenders (3): Brett Brochu, Sebastian Cossa, Dylan Garand*.

Canada will now spend this week bonding as a team and getting ready for their pre-tournament games against Switzerland on December 19th, Sweden on December 20th, and Russia on December 22nd.

The race for the gold medal begins on Boxing Day against the Czech Republic, followed by December 28th vs Austria, December 29th vs Germany, before wrapping up the group stage on New Year's Eve vs Finland. All of Canada's group stage games are at 7pm ET/5pm MT (local).
