As the Montreal Canadiens season is in turmoil, it seems that some big changes could be coming to the team and their front office.

The team was recently given permission to talk to Jeff Gorton, former New York Rangers general manager, who now works as an analyst for NHL Network.

According to Louis Jean, host of TVA Sports, sources are saying that Marc Bergevin was deeply hurt by the news and rumors surrounding Gorton and Scott Mellanby. Mellanby recently resigned as assistant general manager of the Canadiens, and Bergevin had previously recommended that he would be his replacement. Bergevin was never in the light in the negotiations and that rubbed him the wrong way.

Bergevin apparently heard about the rumors through the media, which as a player or staff member of a professional sports team, is probably the worst way to hear about news about someone replacing you or someone stepping down.

Although, Bergevin is unhappy with these rumours, he remains the Canadiens GM as of right now, but it does seem that his days are numbered with the Habs.
