The Ottawa Senators scratched goaltender Matt Murray from Friday afternoon's game against the Anaheim Ducks as they opted to go with Anton Forsberg and Filip Gustavsson.

Murray's time in Ottawa has been shaky and he has had a handful of injuries while in the nation's capital. Now it appears that the 27-year-old's time as an Ottawa Sentaor could be drawing to a close.

According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Ottawa Senators are expected to place Matt Murray on waivers on Saturday afternoon.

"We will see what happens tomorrow, but it appears as if Ottawa will be putting Matt Murray on waivers. He was scratched today vs Anaheim." Friedman said.

In six games this season, Murray is 0-6-0 with a 3.26 G.A.A., and an .890 save percentage. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has two years remaining on his contract following the 2021-22 season at an AAV of $6.25 million.
