Following Tuesday's practice, Detroit Red Wings head coach Jeff Blashill announced that defenceman Troy Stecher and forward Mitchell Stephens will be out until after the Olympic break in February, so roughly three months.

Stecher, 27, underwent wrist surgery recently, and has only appeared in six games this season, tallying one assists, two penalty minutes, and is a plus-one.

Stephens, 24, has missed the last four games with a lower-body, and in those games, Detroit has a record of 0-3-1. In 16 games this season, the Peterborough, Ontario native has four assists, four penalty minutes, and is a minus-five.

Should both Stecher and Stephens be available for Detroit right after the Olympic break, they could return to the lineup on February 23rd against the Philadelphia Flyers.

As for the rest of the Red Wings, they'll be back in action on Wednesday night when they host the St. Louis Blues.
