Some scary moments during a game in Russia early Monday after 16-year-old Valentin Rodionov was hospitalized. Rodionov, who plays for Moscow Dynamo's youth team in the MHL, reportedly returned to his bench following an incident and lost consciousness.

Reports state Rodionov required surgery, although there is no word on the specific type.

"Valentin Rodionov was hospitalized at the Morozov City Clinical Hospital. The defender was provided with the necessary assistance and an operation was performed. At the moment, the patient is in a satisfactory condition," said a news release from Moscow Dynamo.

There is apparently no risk to Rodionov's life at the moment. He has played 10 games in the MHL this season. No video of the incident could be found. There are conflicting reports over how Rodionov was injured. One website in Russia was saying he was involved in a fight and fell, hitting his head. The team states he took a hard fall into the boards, returned to his bench and lost consciousness, at which point he was rushed to hospital.
