Last month, New York Rangers 2018 first round pick Vitali Kravtsov was left off the team's opening night roster and he was going to be sent to the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack. Kravtsov refused an AHL assignment and the Rangers subsequently suspended the 21-year-old.

The Rangers then loaned Kravtsov to Traktor Chelyabinsk in the KHL, where he has three points (two goals, one assist) in one game.

Trade talks surrounding the Vladivostok, Russia native appeared to be fairly quiet over the month of October, but now a pair of Canadian clubs are in the hunt to acquire him.

According to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff, the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators have shown the most interest in Kravtsov.

"Keep an eye on Vitali Kravtsov, the New York Rangers' No. 9 overall pick from the 2018 NHL Draft, who had NHL teams buzzing after his first game back in the KHL on loan with Traktor Chelyabinsk," Seravalli said.

He added, "League sources say the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators were the two teams who expressed the most interest in Kravtsov, who refused his assignment to AHL Hartford and forced his way back to Russia. The Rangers gave Kravtsov's agent, Dan Milstein, permission to help seek a trade."

In 20 career NHL games, Kravtsov has four points (two goals, two assists), four penalty minutes, and is a minus-six.
