No one has spotted goaltender Tuukka Rask on the ice since game 6 of last season's playoffs series against the Washington Capitals. That changed Monday as Rask, who is an unrestricted free agent, was seen skating with a Boston Bruins coaching staff member prior to the team's practice at Warrior Ice Arena.

According to BostonHockeyNow, Rask is rehabbing his hip surgery performed over the offseason. While he is a UFA. Rask has previously stated he has no interest in playing with another team other than the Bruins and promised to be a cheap option for them on his return.

"We had a conversation with 'Sweens' [Bruins GM Don Sweeney] and I said I'd be a cheap goalie," said Rask back in August. "I'm not looking for a $7 million contract anymore, I'm at the end of my career. I'd just like to help the team out. I feel like I'm a veteran goalie and there's some young guys coming in, so whatever I can do to help the guys out, I would do it and end my career as a Bruin.»

Team President Cam Neely stated the "door is open" for Rask's return, if that's what he decides he wants once he feels healthy enough. That's not likely to happen until sometime between December and February.

Right now, Boston's crease is being patrolled by Linus Ullmark, who is 3-2-0 in five games, along with Jeremy Swayman, who has a record of 2-2-0.
