Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme gives injury update on Cole Caufield

Yesterday, the Montreal Canadiens held their Red vs White intra-squad scrimmage at the Bell Centre. Cole Caufield was supposed to be in the lineup, but left during the scrimmage for precautionary reasons.

On Monday, Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme told reporters that Caufield is suffering from an upper-body injury and will miss about a week.

"'It's nothing major,' Ducharme said. Says they'll be extra cautious not to bring him back too quickly." Sportsnet's Eric Engels said in a tweet on Monday morning.

If Caufield is back in a week, as Ducharme suspects, that could put him in line to play in one or both of Montreal's pre-season games next week, October 5th @ Toronto and October 7th vs Ottawa.
