Today we're going to take a look at the top ten prospects in the Montreal Canadiens system. Many people have different criteria for a player who is a prospect, but I'm going to base my list off of what The Hockey Writers use.

"A player is considered a prospect if he has played less than 25 games in one campaign (regular season and playoffs combined), less than 50 games total in their career, and is under 25 years old by Sept.15."

10) Oliver Kapanen. Age: 18. Drafted: 2021, second round (64th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: KalPa (Liiga), zero points in two games.

9) Cameron Hillis. Age: 21. Drafted: 2018, third round (66th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Laval Rocket (AHL).

8) Luke Tuch. Age: 19. Drafted: 2020, second round (47th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Boston University (NCAA).

7) Jayden Struble. Age: 20. Drafted: 2019, second round (46th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Northeastern University (NCAA).

6) Jesse Ylonen. Age: 21. Drafted: 2018, second round (35th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Laval Rocket (AHL).

5) Kaiden Guhle. Age: 19. Drafted: 2020, first round (16th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Prince Albert Raiders (WHL).

4) Jan Mysak. Age: 19. Drafted: 2020, second round (48th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL).

3) Jordan Harris. Age: 21. Drafted: 2018, third round (71st overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Northeastern University (NCAA).

2) Sean Farrell. Age: 19. Drafted: 2020, fourth round (124th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Harvard University (NCAA).

1) Mattias Norlinder. Age: 21. Drafted: 2019, third round (64th overall). 2021-22 team/stats: Frolunda HC (SHL), zero points in one game.

While most of the players on my list will be in either college hockey or Europe, there are a couple that could get some time in the NHL. Those two are Mattias Norlinder (ranked #1) and Jesse Ylonen (ranked #6).

The Canadiens will open their rookie camp on Wednesday, September 15th, and it'll run until September 21st, and among those participating are Cameron Hillis, Kaiden Guhle and Mattias Norlinder.
