The Ottawa Senators are enjoying the last days of summer prior to the start of training camp, with several current Sens, including Nick Paul, Austin Watson and Drake Batherson, taking part in the Wally and Methot Charity Classic, along with former Sens Marc Methot and Chris Neil this week.

While Nick Paul made a lot of noise on the course, according to the Wally and Methot Show co-host Brent Wallace, Methot says it was actually Batherson who stole the show.. or rather the auction that followed Thursday's action.

According to Methot, Batherson (fresh off of the brand new 6-year, $29.85M deal that he signed this summer, outbid the former Senator for an autographed Tom Brady jersey.

Methot didn't let the outbidding get in the way of him having a good time. The evidence of that was in his quirky response to the situation.

"The kid's a better golfer than I am and has more money. The end," Methot said following the event.

Methot spent 5 seasons with the Sens from 2012-2017 and was a big part of Ottawa's impressive postseason run, making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals back in 2016-17.
