Despite requesting a trade from the St. Louis Blues, it appears Vladimir Tarasenko will remain with the team. Blues coach Craig Berube appeared on the Cam & Strick Podcast this week and was asked about Tarasenko's trade request.

"I expect that Vladi will play for us and intend to treat him like any other hockey player," Berube said.

Berube added the trade request will be dealt with internally, and they'll focus on what they can control rather than what they can't.

Tarasenko, who has scored 30 goals five times in his career, asked for a trade at the end of last season. He is apparently unhappy with how the team has managed his role following multiple surgeries on his shoulder. He has this season and next left on his contract at a cap hit of $7.5 million. He would then become an unrestricted free agent.

Tarasenko has played a total of 531 regular season games in the NHL, recording 218 goals and 442 points.
