The Seattle Kraken announced on Wednesday that they've signed unrestricted free agent forward Riley Sheahan to a one-year contract worth $850,000.

"We're excited to add an experienced veteran like Riley to our organization," said Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis. "His versatility, strong penalty-killing ability and skill in the faceoff circle make him a valuable addition to our forward group."

Sheahan, 29, has played in 566 career regular season games across parts of ten seasons with Detroit, Pittsburgh, Florida, Edmonton, and Buffalo. During the 2020-21 season with the Sabres, Sheahan had 13 points (4 G, 9 A), eight penalty minutes, and was a -8 in 53 games.

Seattle will open up their training camp in the coming weeks before playing their first pre-season game on September 26th against the Vancouver Canucks.
