Iron man Keith Yandle will be looking for a new home in free agency, and should garner a fair amount of interest after being bought out by the Florida Panthers earlier this summer.

Yandle, 34, is a pure offensive defenseman and power play specialist who embodies the term "durable", suiting up in 922-consecutive games. He is 42 games shy of tying Doug Jarvis' NHL record of 964-consecutive games.

The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta revealed on Twitter on Sunday that Yandle has had conversations with several NHL teams, including the Boston Bruins, who were rumoured to have had previous interest.

This makes a ton of sense for the Bruins for a couple of reasons. First, the Bruins just lost defenseman Jeremy Lauzon to the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft. Second, Yandle has made his money and is likely to sign at a much lower cap hit, as he approaches his 35th birthday in September.

With his iron man streak on the line, Yandle will look to sign somewhere that will allow him the opportunity to play. Whether that's Boston or even for a team who is rebuild mode and needs some NHL bodies to fill out the roster remains to be seen. I suppose we'll find out on July 28th or shortly thereafter.
