Tragic news was announced today, as 18-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan Tyler Sabathy has passed away from injuries suffered during a Super Bowl celebration.

After beating the Washington Commanders in a dominant 55-point game, the Philadelphia Eagles will be headed to their second Super Bowl in only three years, facing the Kansas City Chiefs.

This sparked celebration by Eagles fans, who will be looking to secure their first Super Bowl win since 2018 on February 9th in New Orleans.

Unfortunately, this celebration took the life of 18-year-old Tyler Sabathy, who fell and struck his head after climbing up a street pole.

As confirmed by ESPN, the young 18-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan from Toronto has passed away from his injuries.

Sabathy attended Temple University and was a competitive gymnast. President John Fry released this statement after the news came out:

"The loss of a promising 18-year-old man like Tyler is both tragic and traumatic," the statement read in part. "There are no words that can make sense of it, and the entire Temple community mourns his passing. Our hearts go out to Tyler's family, friends, classmates and all who knew and loved him.

As a member of the university's club gymnastics team, Tyler displayed exceptional self-discipline and work ethic, spending countless hours a week training and honing his craft. He was loved by his teammates, friends and coaches here in Philadelphia,"

We here at Markerzone send our best wishes to Tyler's friends and family in this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Tyler Sabathy.
