The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the tragic announcement that their former player Larry McIntyre has unfortunately passed away at the age of 75.

The Toronto Maple Leafs sent out the sad word Tuesday afternoon, shortly after their 4-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks, that 75-year-old Larry McIntyre had died.

The tragic news was revealed by the Maple Leafs Alumni on social media X, and the NHL Alumni Association also released a statement.

The NHL Alumni Association is saddened learn that Larry McIntyre has passed away at the age of 75.

The @MapleLeafs drafted McIntyre with the 31st overall selection in the 1969 NHL amateur draft. He would go on to appear in 41 career NHL games between 1970 and 1973, all with the Maple Leafs.

The Tisdale, Saskatchewan native captured the 1970 Calder Cup with the AHL's Buffalo Bisons, and the 1976 Adams Cup with the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey Hockey League.

22 years after his final professional hockey game, McIntyre returned to Tulsa as an assistant coach for the 1998-99 season. He would take over as head coach for the final 51 games of that season.

We send our deepest condolences to Larry's family, friends, and former teammates during this time.

A Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native, McIntyre played in 41 games with the Maple Leafs between 1970-1973, collecting three assists.

He was drafted by the Leafs in the third round, 31st overall in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. Our heartfelt condolences go to the family, friends, and all who stood by Larry during these sad times.

The Maple Leafs will be on the ice Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena, where they meet the Nashville Predators.

The big story for the tilt includes the fact that Ryan Reaves will finally return from suspension. The 37-year-old winger will rejoin the lineup, bumping Alex Nylander.

Leafs fans and the organization will hope they will be able to win this game in memory of Larry.
