Cheadle played for his local high school the Prairie Centre North Stars, a team that derived their name from the old NHL club that used to represent Minnesota, the North Stars.
The North Stars moved to Dallas in 1993, dropping the 'North' from their name.
The 16-year-old was really just beginning his hockey journey, having just played his first game at the varsity level a week before the accident.
Minnesota State highway patrol made a statement yesterday afternoon confirming the tragic accident as well as the identity of the victim.
The North Stars have since honored their former player.
In a post to X, the team shared a picture of Cheadle's locker room stall, with all his gear ready for game day.
Sadly, instead of him getting ready for his next game, there were flowers and other items at the foot of the locker left there by his teammates in honor of him.
The hockey community has come together to share in the North Star's loss, with many sending their condolences to the team, Cheadle's friends, and of course, his family.
No life should ever be taken so young. It is such a shame that Cheadle will never be able to live out his dreams of playing professional hockey.
Even worse is the fact that his parents, friends, and family will have to live the rest of their lives with this tragedy in it.
This was certainly a life-changing event for everyone who knew Cheadle. Only those who have gone through the same grief can understand what they are going through.
Hopefully, Cheadle's friends and family will be able to make it through this incredibly difficult time.
The Markerzone family would like to send our deepest condolences to them, and everyone who knew the young man. Rest in peace Aaron.
