Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers of all time, but lost to the much younger celebrity Jake Paul last night in the controversial Netflix matchup.

With the fight now being over, Mike Tyson has taken to X to make a statement, where he came forward about his near-death experience in June, where he needed eight blood transfusions.

While many people still view Iron Mike as being infallible, reigning as an undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and being regarded as one of the GOATS of the game, he showed his human and vulnerable side.

This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I'm grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time.

I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you

Jake Paul, who won in the fight last night, responded to Tyson, expressing the honour it was to fight somebody of his calibre.

This may be one of the last times we see Tyson fight, but no matter what happens from now, he will always be one of the greatest fighters of all time.
