David Perron has returned to the Senators after a heartbreaking absence, and now he has provided a positive update on his daughters situation after missing 11 games to tend to the pregnancy of his wife.

Earlier in the season, it was announced that David Perron would miss some time for the Ottawa Senators, revealing a tough situation with the pregnancy of his wife Vanessa.

Fortunately, Perron's partner gave a fantastic update recently, revealing that their daughter Elizabeth had been born, allowing the veteran to return to the Senators, and while things haven't been perfect, they are certainly looking up.

Unfortunately though, things didn't go perfectly, and when asked about the situation after returning to Ottawa, this is what Perron had to say about how things are going with it all.

"We're not fully out of the woods yet, but we're getting there,"

This is clearly a positive update from Perron, but after his daughter had a mass on her lung, it was clearly a very scary situation for all of those involved, with the family getting very lucky that they received such great care.

Given how important family is, this is an incredible update for the Perron family, and to return to play while also dealing with this shows immense strength from David and his whole family.

To some people, missing 11 games of the NHL season could be a big deal, but in the grand scheme of things, it means nothing compared to your family and their health, so it's fantastic to see Perron prioritizing that family over anything else.

We once again send our well wishes to the Perron family and hope that everything goes well both on and off the ice after the incredibly tough time they've been through, with Vanessa, David and their whole family showing immense strength throughout this situation.
