It's clear Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks is getting frustrated with the team's losing ways, and trade talks are mounting as a way to get him some help.

NHL phenom Connor Bedard knew what he was getting into when the Chicago Blackhawks drafted him first overall in 2023. It doesn't make it any less frustrating, though and it seems the 19-year-old's irritation with the process is spilling out onto the ice.

In the Chicago Blackhawks last game against the Dallas Stars, Connor Bedard received a rare (for him) unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for getting a little too annoyed with defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin.

The two got caught up along the blueline and Lyubushkin lost his stick, with Bedard kicking it away in anger.

Connor Bedard, who was recently very forward while discussing the difficulty of playing in the Chicago market, can be forgiven for letting his frustrations boil over.

The Blackhawks are most likely years away from making the playoffs as he plays through his second season in the NHL.

With the Chicago Blackhawks sporting a dismal 5-9-1 record so far in the 2024-25 season, the need for help is sparking significant trade rumours. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman recently appeared on the Oilers Now podcast with Bob Stauffer, and said defenseman Connor Murphy is likely being shopped by the Blackhawks. He wondered if Edmonton would make a move, sending Jeff Skinner back to Chicago in return.

Jeff Skinner, like many other members of his team, has been off to a slow start so far in 2024-25. A change of scenery, and playing alongside Connor Bedard in Chicago might be the kick in the behind he needs, while Edmonton picks up more help for the blueline.

Money would need to be shifted around, but that's not an issue if two teams are set on making something work.

There are worse ideas, and perhaps nabbing Jeff Skinner would temper down some of the frustrations being felt by future Chicago Blackhawks team captain Connor Bedard.
