The Toronto Maple Leafs had a very divisive goal song for quite some time, and after the change, Max Domi has officially ripped into the team's former choice.

For some fans, the choice of goal songs for a team is a very interesting topic, and after your home team scores, their choice of song can certainly be a major positive or a negative for the atmosphere. In the case of the Toronto Maple Leafs, their former song by Hall & Oates was a very divisive one among their fanbase, but after the team decided to make a long overdue change, veteran Max Domi has shared his thoughts, revealing that he hated it, and was very happy when the team switched it up.
«Hall & Oates was terrible the worst. Thank God we switched that one.»
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the comment section of this post was very divisive, as some agreed with Domi's take, while others look back on that time with fondness, and therefore relate the song to a very successful regular season run for the team. Most of the reaction was with the former however, as there were a majority of comments that supported Domi, and with another change expected in 2024/25, the Maple Leafs have the opportunity to try something fresh.
For something like music, it's always hard to pick something that everyone will enjoy, which is why plenty of fans have suggested individual goal songs, but for now, Toronto will stick with what has worked and continue to use just one song. Given how many goals the team has scored under Auston Matthews and will likely continue to do so with some added firepower this off-season, it's a song that fans are going to hear often, so if they want to set the atmosphere, Domi and many others will be hoping it's a much better choice than Hall & Oates.
