Auston Matthews is one of the biggest characters in the NHL, and now in a recent interview, he has had to expose one of his younger teammates in Matthew Knies.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have undergone some massive changes this season, namely choosing Auston Matthews as their next captain. It doesn't appear to have changed him any however, as he has recently had to expose teammate Matthew Knies after the 21-year old revealed that he 'smoked' Matthews when they played tennis over the summer.
Unfortunately for Knies, Matthews caught wind of this, and when it came up during the captains interview, he called Knies out, revealing that he straight up lied to the media.
"He's never beaten me in tennis, never. He literally walked into the gym and told me that he said that. I said, 'I can't believe you would lie to the media like that, that's crazy'"
Ultimately, we may never truly know the truth, but with these two pairing up on the Maple Leafs top line together for the upcoming season, it's incredible to see the chemistry build between the two, and who knows, one day we may see the Leafs capture one of these games on tape to truly know who the best is.
