Joe Pavelski recently retired after a long and fruitful NHL career, and now it appears he's already finding a new role in the league in a surprising location.

After almost two decades in the NHL, Joe Pavelski finally hung up the skates this off-season following an incredible career with San Jose and Dallas, where he played in a total of 1,332 NHL games. Given his leadership and experience, it was only a matter of time until he took a role as a coach in the NHL after retirement, and now, an intriguing development could see him follow that very path.
According to a report, Pavelski was spotted in Pittsburgh at training camp alongside GM Kyle Dubas and Assistant GM Jason Spezza, signalling that he could very well be headed to the Penguins in some capacity.
It's unclear exactly what role Pavelski is looking to take behind the scenes, whether it be as a coach, a scout or an executive, but at 40-years of age, he could seamlessly fit into any role required given his incredible experience. During his career, Pavelski also played in over 200 Stanley Cup Playoffs games, so there's no place more fitting for him than Pittsburgh, who host three of the most experienced players in the NHL, so now we will wait and see just what role Pavelski is looking for in the league.
