Max Pacioretty is the newest member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, as an NHL insider has reported the two sides have agreed to a new contract.

There were a lot of rumblings that the Maple Leafs might extend a professional tryout to Max Pacioretty, but Darren Dreger reports they have decided to sign him to a regular deal instead.
Max Pacioretty should fit in quite well among the top-six forwards of the Leafs, specifically with fellow veterans John Tavares and Mitch Marner. He'll also bring a load of experience to be an important leader to the youngsters on the team. Pacioretty was once the captain of the storied Montreal Canadiens franchise, therefore adding that type of leadership to any NHL team is always a plus, especially a Leafs team trying to take the next step in the playoffs.
Picked 22nd overall by the Montreal Canadiens back in 2007, Max Pacioretty played 902 games in the NHL, of which he tallied 330 goals and 338 assists for 668 points. Last season, between many different injuries with the Washington Capitals, he was limited to only 47 games in which he scored four goals and added 19 assists for 23 points.
Looking for a fresh start and a bounce-back year, the Leafs hope he can provide some much-needed secondary scoring.
