The New Jersey Devils seem to be in the market of bringing in a forward and seem to have found one. Even though the one they chose has a very checkered past.

Milan Lucic, a former Boston Bruin and Calgary Flame, has signed a PTO with the New Jersey Devils. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue but his arrest following a November 2023 incident with his wife has some fans outraged.
Lucic, a former second-round pick by the Boston Bruins, only played in 4 games last season before being arrested by the Boston Police and released by the Bruins.
The forward is known as a grinder within the hockey space, not afraid to bully opponents to prove a point or try and gain momentum for his team.
The New Jersey Devils have shown that they have no problems bringing in players that are harder to play against, trading for Kurtis MacDermid at the past trade deadline, while also having Nathan Bastian and Justin Dowling on their roster.
Fans of the Devils have shown outrage as they do not want someone who has shown a history of domestic violence, who also got released from his previous team for his actions. But since Lucic's charges were dismissed in February of 2024, he seems to be allowed to play again.
UPDATE
The New Jersey Devils have shut down rumours of a Milan Lucic PTO.
