In the face of tragedy, people just wish for empathy. Especially in sports, as these people are real human beings suffering like the rest of us. Most would think that this is something that everyone can offer but unfortunately, this is not always the case as a popular Montreal Canadiens podcast refused to show this common courtesy.

On "The Sick Podcast" hosted by Grant McCagg and Shayne Gaumond, the two were discussing the unfortunate passing of Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau. The way that they attempted to rationalize the untimely passing of these two was rather disgusting, to say the least.

Trying to rationalize the loss of human life and trying to relate it to why a team drafted a certain player is a rather disgusting way to describe it.

As expected, the public reaction to this was rather negative. Both hosts received a litany of backlash due to the repulsive comments relating to the tragedy that occurred.

The episode of The Sick Podcast in which the comments were said has since been wiped from every platform on which it was published. But no public comments have been made from either of the two hosts on any sort of apology or backtrack of what was said.
