The hockey world was hit with an unspeakable and heartbreaking tragedy with the passing of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau. Their sister Katie has now spoken.

The two brothers, Matthew Gaudreau and Johnny Gaudreau were back in their hometown ahead of their sisters wedding on Friday. Unfortunately, Sean Higgins, an intoxicated driver, ended their lives Thursday night in a horrible tragedy.
Katie Gaudreau, who was set to be married on Friday, but ultimately cancelled the wedding following the passing of her two brothers, has now taken to Instagram to speak on the horrible event.
To know these two was to love these two. There are absolutely no words I have to express the bond my family shared. The entire world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or Matty without John. The absolute best big brothers a little girl could have asked for. This will never be a goodbye post because I will never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I'll take the best care of mom, dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline, and your babies.

Johnny Gaudreau will be remembered as one of the greatest undersized players in the NHL, with an incredible 115-point season under his belt, and a Lady Byng award under his name. His time with the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets will never be forgotten, and he will remain a legend in hockey forever.
Matthew Gaudreau was a pillar in his community as a high school hockey coach, and was once in the New York Islanders organization in the AHL. His wife is currently pregnant with their firstborn son Tripp. There is now a Go Fund Me that has surpassed $500,000 in donations for the mother and future son.
We send the best to the Gaudreau family in this tough time, and we applaud Katie for her words of strength in what must be the worst week of her life.
The hockey world will never forget Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau.
