News around the NHL has just broken out that Carolina Hurricanes Jesper Fast will not be able to play a single game next season due to a major injury.

Jesper Fast was a key player for the Carolina Hurricanes last season, and sadly he will miss the entire 2024-25 season in what is being referred to as a major neck injury.
Jesper Fast underwent surgery recently to help him recover from this situation, and while there was hope he would be able to make a return at some point next season, doctors have confirmed the worst, and he will have to sit out the entire year.
As luck would have it, Jesper Fast suffered this brutal neck injury during the very last game of the season. He was seen wearing a neck brace until he finally had surgery in early August. What's even more frustrating about this whole situation for the Hurricanes organization and their fans is that this final game of the season was completely meaningless, as it wouldn't have changed a thing in the standings for the team.
Jesper Fast played in 73 games for the Carolina Hurricanes last season, having scored six goals and 13 assists for 19 points.
