The NHL veteran Max Pacioretty was officially linked to a Canadian powerhouse as we get closer to the start of the 2024-25 season.

With only a few weeks left before the start of training camp activities, the 35-year-old forward Max Pacioretty is still available on the free-agent market. However, new reports confirmed that he currently has offers on the table and should make a decision about his next destination very soon.
Here's what Frank Seravalli shared on X:
Other renowned insiders David Pagnotta and Nick Alberga shared additional details, saying that the Toronto Maple Leafs were among the teams interested, and that it wouldn't be a professional tryout but a standard player contract:
Pacioretty is coming off a rough patch in his career. He suffered two significant injuries back-to-back, tearing his Achilles both times. He was limited to five games in the 2022-23 season when he was a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.
He will definitely look to bounce back in the next season. Last year, in 47 regular season games, he scored 23 points, including four goals. The natural goal-scorer should be able to put more pucks in the net in the coming year, especially if he joins a team like the Toronto Maple Leafs.
If he can remain healthy, he'd bring interesting depth to Craig Berube's lineup, whether he ends up in the top six alongside Auston Matthews or William Nylander, or in the bottom-six with Max Domi.
With other teams in the running to sign him, his fate has yet to be determined, and the hockey community awaits his decision.
Updates will follow.
