Two defensemen of the Nashville Predators appear to be on the Edmonton Oilers watchlist, as Dante Fabbro and Philip Tomasino could be traded shortly.

Earlier tonight, insider Frank Seravalli broke the news that the Edmonton Oilers were close to acquiring a defenseman via trade. He suggested that the deal might be finalized before training camp, which would significantly strengthen the Oilers' defense. This is especially important after the team recently lost both Cody Ceci through trade and Philip Broberg by way of an offer sheet.
After further investigation, Jesse Courville-Lynch from The Mug on Instagram revealed that the Oilers are eyeing two defensemen from the Nashville Predators. He shared this update on his Instagram account.
There are some rumblings that the Edmonton Oilers & Nashville Predators have been discussing a trade surrounding D Dante Fabbro.

Am working on confirming the reports.

He later added to this breaking news to provide some clarity on the situation.

Dante Fabbro and Philip Tomasino, both former first-round picks by the Nashville Predators, are reportedly the targets. Last season, Fabbro recorded 3 goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 56 games, while Tomasino tallied 7 goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 41 games.
Philip Tomasino is currently a restricted free agent without a contract, which means he could receive an offer sheet, and Dante Fabbro has a $2.5 million cap hit, entering the final year of his contract. If this trade goes through, it could address key gaps in the Oilers' lineup, which would only make the team stronger in their quest to finally hoist the Stanley Cup.
