The Carolina Hurricanes and the Columbus Blue Jackets could be on the verge of making a blockbuster trade according to a new report.

Since the end of the 2023-24 NHL season, one of the players who's been most involved in trade rumours has been the Canes' forward Martin Necas.
Necas is a very talented player that attracts a lof of interest from teams across the NHL, and with Don Waddell jumping the Canes' ship to join the Blue Jackets, he could be tempted to work on a deal to reunite with the player:
"The rumored trade package would see the Hurricanes send forward Martin Necas to Columbus. Necas, a former 12th overall pick, possesses immense potential with his speed and playmaking abilities. However, he hasn't quite lived up to expectations in Carolina, making him an expendable asset in a potential blockbuster deal."

With Patrik Laine on the trade block in Columbus, many people believe he could be involved in a deal with Necas.
Waddell even talked about this issue in a recent press conference:
"Teams keep checking in to see if there's anything new,» Waddell said. «I tell them, ‘You guys have to be comfortable with [Laine], and I can't help you.' I don't know the player personally. I'm not one to try and trick people either, so [we] made him available to chat [when he's cleared]."
Stay tuned.
