The Nashville Predators have had an incredible off-season thus far, but it hasn't stopped their GM from teasing the acquisition of another superstar.

To start free agency this year, the Nashville Predators acquired Brady Skjei, Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault, but that hasn't stopped the team getting linked to superstar trades. Recently, GM Barry Trotz was asked about the rumours linking them to 'a superstar in Toronto', and while he doesn't deny the reports of their interest, he does simply put it down to people connecting the dots.
Barry Trotz tells @JaredStillman there's truth to the rumors of Preds being in on some big names on trade market.

He mentions a "prominent player in Toronto" as "people trying to connect dots" but also lists reasons why someone like Mitch Marner would want to come to NSH.
Trotz doesn't completely rule out the idea of making a big move however, as he would go on to list many reasons why someone like Mitch Marner, who carries a full no-trade clause would be interested in Toronto. Whether they make a move or not, the Predators are expected to take a big leap in 2024/25, and if they can lock up someone like Marner to help this forward group, the sky would be the absolute limit for Nashville.
