Rutger McGroarty was once seen as a bright light of the future for the Winnipeg Jets, but now the University of Michigan has upset many in the organization.

This off-season has been a strange one for the Winnipeg Jets, and after little moves in free agency, they've got a big problem with one of their top prospects. In recent times, Rutger McGroarty has been causing major issues within the organization, refusing to join the team at the NHL level, presumably as there's no spot guaranteed for him, likely resulting in a trade request.
Lots of news today on Rutger McGroarty not being happy and looking to move on from Winnipeg. There's a good chance he's traded by this time next week. Check out my timeline for some of the details.
Whether or not that happens is yet to be seen, but due to his actions, many have now labelled him a 'red-flag', and given his attitude towards the situation, it's safe to say that many other teams around the NHL are taking note of his behaviour.
"This is crazy to me. We're talking about red flag. A young man who has yet to prove himself at the pro level expects to walk in and be on an NHL roster right away...thats a problem"
It appears to be only a matter of time until the former first-round pick officially requests a trade, and given his behaviour, this situation could get much worse for the 20-year old before it gets better.
