A few days after the Edmonton Oilers bought out the contract of goaltender Jack Campbell, he already signed a new deal with another NHL team.

The free agent market opened on Monday, and many players have already found their new team.

Despite his season full of struggles that led to the Oilers buying out his $5M AAV contract, goaltender Jack Campbell has officially signed a new NHL deal.

He agreed on the terms of a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings valued at $775K:

"UPDATE: The #RedWings today signed goaltender Jack Campbell to a one-year contract with an AAV of $775K."

Campbell will get another chance to prove himself in the NHL, but if he fails to get back to the top of his game at the Red Wings' training camp, he could have no choice but to say goodbye to his NHL dream.

General Manager Steve Yzerman also added the veteran Cam Talbot to his goalie unit earlier today, as the team hopes to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

"UPDATE: The #RedWings today signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a two-year contract with an AAV of $2.5M."

Last season, Talbot, 36, had a great season with the Los Angeles Kings. He had a 0.913 SV%, 2.48 GAA, and a 27-20-6 record.

More to come.
