Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup last night, beating out the Edmonton Oilers in incredible fashion.

While Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe trophy, Matthew Tkachuk, and his cast of Aleksander Barkov, Sergei Bobrovsky, and Gustav Forsling won the ultimate prize.

Edmonton will be grieving for a while, but this didn't stop Matthew Tkachuk from taking one last shot at the team, highlighting the tension of the Battle of Alberta.

As a former Calgary Flames forward, who was traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, Cole Schwindt, and a first round pick, Matthew Tkachuk has now made the massive cost worth it, but has still re-ignited the Battle of Alberta for his Calgary Flames fans:

Matthew Tkachuk during post-game celebrations on Sportsnet: «Shoutout to my fans in Calgary still. You know I couldn't let Edmonton win.»

What a series, and what a year. The Florida Panthers are your Stanley Cup Champions.
