With the many teams calling about Seattle Kraken forward Shane Wright, David Pagnotta has revealed how GM Ron Francis will handle this whole situation.

For three years prior to his draft year, Shane Wright looked like a lock for the first overall pick in the 2022 draft but as the season progressed, there was more of a question on if Wright would be the guy hearing his name first in Montreal. Surprisingly on draft day, Wright fell to fourth overall where the Seattle Kraken rushed up to the podium to select the top prospect.

Since then, Wright has spent his time with the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL and the Coachella Valley Firebirds where he has put up very reasonable numbers since.

Some teams have questioned Wright's usage in Seattle as he is yet to make a mark in the NHL, therefore teams are asking around about his availability. The following was said by Dave Pagnotta regarding the likelihood of a Shane Wright trade:

"There has been chatter lately that some teams plan on asking Seattle about Shane Wright's availability. Ask all they want, but I'm told Seattle GM Ron Francis has no interest in moving him and the plan is to have him push for a fulltime roster spot on the Kraken next season." - David Pagnotta

So you can cut the whole Shane Wright for Martin Necas talk, Hurricanes fans.
