Sidney Crosby spotted at popular restaurant among Leafs players

Speculation around Mitch Marner has been at an all-time high since the Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs this year. The latest rumors came out after Marner was seen having brunch with Craig Berube at a Toronto restaurant. For many fans, the move seemed to indicate that Marner might be staying with the Leafs after all.

If fans thought that Marner having a private discussion with Berube was indicative of him staying with the team, than they might be really excited to hear what happened last night. None other than Sidney Crosby was spotted eating at the exact same restaurant.

As far as we know, no one from the Leafs was spotted with Crosby. However, it is certainly possible he was waiting to have a conversation with someone who had not joined him yet, or someone that had already left by the time he was noticed. Could he have been discussing the possibility of a trade to the Leafs? After all, the Penguins are looking like they are entering a rebuild. Adding Crosby to the Leafs would not only make them instant Stanley Cup favorites, but it would also be one of the biggest stories the NHL has seen in quite some time. Penguins fans would surely be heartbroken, but the Leafs need a big win and this could certainly be their chance to win back fans that have gotten tired of losing.
