New York Rangers rookie Matt Rempe had one of the best games of his NHL career last night but was absolutely embarrassed during the third period by Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov.

Last night the New York Rangers took down the Florida Panthers in a thrilling 2-1 overtime win which saw a lot of the Rangers' bottom six step up. After an injury to Jimmy Vesey, players like Matt Rempe and the game-winning goal scorer Barclay Goodrow were forced to play more minutes.

For Rempe, there are still some growing pains in his game and we saw it last night as he was flattened by Dmitry Kulikov on the forecheck.

Kulikov on a roll today, this time knocking down Matt Rempe.

While Rempe received the worst of this collision, he made up for it throughout the game registering a whopping nine hits.

A healthy scratch in Game 1, Matt Rempe has skated 9:54 in Game 2. That's his most in any playoff game and second-most in any NHL game.

He has a game-high 9 hits.

Rempe even got shifts in overtime and looks to continue to make an impact for the Rangers in this series and hopefully in the Stanley Cup Finals if the Rangers advance.
