The first two games in the second-round series between Boston and Florida have been incredibly physical, and now the NHL have warned them about their play.

Tied at 1-1 after two games in Florida, the Eastern Conference semi-final matchup between the Bruins and Panthers has been a war thus far, with so many talking points heading into game three. It's safe to say however that the biggest talking point of all has been the physical play, with game two seeing 14 ejections highlighted by the shocking battle between Matthew Tkachuk and David Pastrnak.

Now, ahead of game three in what will be a hostile environment in Boston, the NHL and Gary Bettman have warned both teams to tone it down, despite the excitement their game two battle brought.

Game 3 tonight between Florida and Boston. Game 2 certainly had a nasty tone to it amplified by the Pastrnak/Tkachuk scrap. Both clubs have been told by the NHL this series will be heavily scrutinized moving forward.

This warning comes despite the sheer excitement and attention this series has brought to the NHL, with Gary Bettman once again being criticized for simply not letting hockey be the unique, chaotic league that it is.

Hopefully both teams continue to play with the same aggression and passion that we've seen thus far, because there's an Eastern Conference Finals berth on the line, and that should be what's important here, not the Commissioner unnecessarily inserting himself into the story once more.
