The Toronto Maple Leafs fought their way back in their series against the Boston Bruins, but are still on the brink of elimination. With this in mind, they have called up nine players from the AHL's Toronto Marlies, including tough-guy Kyle Clifford.

While it expected he will not suit up tonight, knowing that he was a favourite of Sheldon Keefe two years ago, and keeping in mind the fact that Ryan Reaves has been borderline unplayable, it is entirely possible he will be dressed for game 7 (if one occurs) in order to turn the tide at TD Garden.

Kyle Clifford has been called up to the Leafs according to CapFriendly

Eight other players were equally called up:

Alex Steeves, Marshall Rifai, Topi Niemela, Max Lajoie, Mikko Kokkonen, Dennis Hildeby, Dylan Gambrell, Kyle Clifford and Nick Abruzzese were all called up from AHL Toronto on Wednesday, per CapFriendly

Kyle Clifford made headlines last week for his shocking and unexpected actions in the handshake line after being eliminated by the Ottawa Senators' AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators. Clifford broke the hockey code, and went after fellow enforcer Bokondji Imama.

Kyle Clifford starting Game 6?

Just in time, for Coach Keefe's Handshake Line

The Toronto Maple Leafs are facing a must-win game against the Boston Bruins tonight, and a physical guy like Kyle Clifford could be a difference-maker. Do you think head coach Sheldon Keefe should insert Kyle Clifford into the lineup?
