The New York Islanders can't seem to get much going in the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it seems fans have just about given up hope in game 4

It's been such and up and down season for the New York Islanders, and the trend has continued into the 2024 postseason. The Isles are currently down 3-0 in their opening round Stanley Cup Playoffs series, and if players haven't given up hope, it sure seems like fans have.

Making rounds on social media are posts containing tickets prices for game 4 of the series, which takes place this afternoon at UBS Arena in New York. The Islanders have been around since the 1972-73 season. At that time, this would have been big money. In modern times, $29 is peanuts to see an NHL game. Especially when it comes to teams that are well established in the league.

Even just before the game, there were good seats available for $60.

"Tickets to the Islanders' funeral only run $60 and plenty of great seats still remaining. #isles"

Some fans chose to insist that this is the way things always go for the Islanders when times are bad.

"People still act surprised by this??? We are the Islanders this is expected.... I didn't get face value for my tickets 1 single time this year.... why would anyone pay ridiculous prices to see this team win OR lose......ohhhh wait I do......HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHA"

While it's not impossible, the odds against coming back from a 3-0 series lead at any point in the NHL playoffs are astronomical. Still, fans usually support their teams, even when they're down. Meanwhile, there are a number of posts on X regarding tickets for sale for this afternoon.
